Christmas cards for a luxury hotel

This year, I had the pleasure of designing a very special Christmas card for a luxury hotel in Switzerland. But of course it wasn't just any card - according to the motto "all good things come in threes", the challenge was to stage the hotel three times. With a view to the Advent season, Christmas and the New Year, I was allowed to live out all my creativity. In watercolour and hand painted in the colours of the hotel's corporate identity, I created a three-part card, which was subsequently sent out as an animation.
While the elements predefined by the client in the form of a horse-drawn carriage and a ski hut put me in the mood for the Christmas season, the drawing of the hotel façade evoked memories of my time as an architect. In the drawing process, I realized that I still don't miss them even ten years later, and I am grateful and happy that as a fashion illustrator I can always take on such special assignments in addition to my live drawing!
WEIHNACHTSKARTEN FÜR EIN LUXUSHOTEL
In diesem Jahr durfte ich eine ganz besondere Weihnachtskarte für ein Luxushotel in der Schweiz gestalten. Doch es sollte natürlich nicht irgendeine Karte sein – gemäß dem Motto „all der guten Dinge sind drei“ bestand die Herausforderung darin, das Hotel gleich drei Mal in Szene zu setzen. Mit Blick auf die Adventszeit, das Weihnachtsfest und das neue Jahr durfte ich meine ganze Kreativität ausleben. In Aquarell und handgemalt entstand in den Farben der Corporate Identity des Hotels eine dreiteilige Karte, die im Anschluss auch als Animation verschickt wurde.
Während mich die vom Kunden vorgegebenen Elemente in Form von Kutsche und Skihütte auf die Weihnachtszeit einstimmten, rief das Zeichnen der Hotelfassade Erinnerungen an meine Zeit als Architektin wach. Dabei wurde mir bewusst, dass ich diese auch zehn Jahre später nicht vermisse und mich dankbar und glücklich schätze, als Modeillustratorin neben dem Live-Zeichnen auch immer wieder solche besonderen Aufträge wahrnehmen zu können!
