Illustrations for the book "De tijd van je leven"

I was lucky enough to meet (and draw) Petra van Bremen during a Tribute to Bambi a few years ago. Since then I have often used the inspiring photos and poses from her Instagram account as a reference for my daily drawing exercises. And I have met her again at various events. She is always a delight. She is a woman who fills the room she enters immediately with her presence. Not only because of her stunning looks, but because of her affability, her personality... her aura.

Last summer I received an email from the Dutch publishing house Kosmos Uitgevers: they were preparing a book signed by Petra and Helene van Santen and they would like me to draw the illustrations referring to Petra's sports exercises and fashion style. Of course, they came recommended by Petra van Bremen herself, who had mentioned my name and showed them my portfolio. Thank you dear Petra!

I ended up drawing the 24 illustrations inside the book during my holidays in Croatia, only coming down for a swim when I had completed my daily asignment of drawings. Thanks to my Surface and my travel scanner, I can work from anywhere, which is a luxury.

Last week, finally, the book arrived from Holland. And it's a joy to hold it in my hands, even though I don't understand a word, and to discover my drawings between its pages.
