Filming with VOGUE Germany and Mon Guerlain

I'm going to tell you about a recent project that was a real joy. But that's not all I'm going to talk about: keep reading because there's something for you further on the text.

The video above is the result of a day filming with Vogue Germany and Guerlain. The idea was for the model Elena Carriere to recreate in her poses the different nuances of the perfume Mon Guerlain, which represent the different facets of a woman, and for me to draw her in these different poses: thoughtful, determined, lively and a little crazy.

What should I say? It was a day like an excursion to Wonderland. Everything was perfect, a very careful production, super nice people... Nerves? Oh yes, of course. But the of the good kind.

After so many events I'm used to drawing in front of people. But to do it with three cameras focused on my hands and following instructions of the type "could you repeat that movement please?" and with the possibility that the sketches made in those conditions might be published... Well, that is indeed a little bit of pressure. But the team made it easy for me to relax and (sometimes) be even able to forget the whole environment and enter my tunnel (it wasn't until a while after seeing the model without pants that I realised that she had taken them off because the team had decided they needed an ironing; all the discussion had taken place right under my nose, while I was drawing her, but I was in my tunnel and I hadn't heard anything). Meet the team at the bottom of this post.

It was about ten hours of filming, in Dusseldorf, but on the train back home I was as happy as a little girl. An incredible day.

I had worked for Guerlain in some previous occasions and I always loved it. But I could not imagine that one day they would call with such a beautiful commission. Many many thanks to the team of Guerlain Germany for thinking of me for this beautiful project and making it possible.

Now comes the part where you* come in. If you would like to have a fashion sketch drawn by me, of yourself or of a friend or family member (a good gift, isn't it?), you can take part in the raffle organised by VOGUE Germany and Guerlain. The conditions and the form to participate can be found at the bottom of this advertorial published by VOGUE. Good luck and let’s see if your photo lands on my desk!

I'll leave you here with a couple of behind-the-scenes photos and additional drawings including the one I gave to Elena after we shared the day.

*If you live in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
